What a way to close out Season 9 of Grace Weber’s Music Lab!
Our season finale, featuring GWML alum NICO MAY was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when talent, community, creativity, & perseverance meet opportunity. From sharing his journey from Music Lab student to professional artist, Nico offered invaluable insight, honesty, & encouragement to the next generation of creatives coming up behind him
The energy in the room was undeniable all night long. Hosted by Program Director B~Free & Program Assistant Brit Nicole, the evening featured one of the most dynamic open mic lineups we’ve ever seen—bringing together current students, alumni, & emerging artists who each took the stage with something special to share. We were also honored to have GWML founder & Grammy Award-winning artist Grace Weber in the building, continuing to pour into the young people who make this community so extraordinary.
To every student, alum, family member, supporter, volunteer, performer, & community partner who helped make Season 9 possible: THANK YOU. Your belief in young creatives continues to make this space one of inspiration, growth, & possibility. Stay tuned for more details on GWML SEASON 10 coming soon!

From the Music Lab stage...to the Summerfest stage! ✨
Every performance has a story long before the lights come on.
For JJBoAllen, it was channeling excitement through a few pre-show nerves. For Dessy, it was preparing for her very first professional performance. For Mala Māla, it was trusting the countless hours of rehearsal that brought them to this moment.
This year's 6th Annual Grace Weber's Music Lab Summerfest x AmFam Pop-Up wasn't just about performing—it was about growth, confidence, & watching three incredible artists step into one of Milwaukee's biggest stages ready to share who they are. Throughout Season 9 of GWML, JJ, Dessy & Mala Māla sharpened their craft, shared their original music, & embraced every opportunity to grow through the Music Lab community. Watching them take the stage at the AmFam House was a celebration of just how far they've come.
A heartfelt thank you to American Family Insurance, Summerfest, our incredible partners, families, volunteers, & every person who stopped by to support these talented young creatives.
